Peculiar Underworld was an immersive installation open to the public in Hertford. This installation was an abstract metaphor that physically illustrates the experience of entering into and exploring one’s inner life world. Resembling a hostile wilderness, Peculiar Underworld replicates the channels of our subconscious. We navigate through sharp snags and uncanny hanging objects as we are plunged into a sense of unease that is both enticing yet unsettles us. The work materialises the intangible and opens up and exposes the spaces we tend to submerge.
